My approach to therapy is collaborative, non-judgmental, and action-oriented. I practice evidence-based treatments drawn from a wide variety of cognitive behavioral therapies, particularly Compassion Focused Therapy. I can help you with:

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Interpersonal issues and relationship problems

  • Stress and burnout associated with work problems

  • Life transitions

  • Improving well-being and life satisfaction

  • Establishing more compassionate relationships with yourself and others

  • Infertility and family-building support

In therapy together, I will sit with you as you tell me about what life is like for you. I will listen closely and without judgment, helping you to uncover and pursue what you value most. I will help you change ingrained, self-defeating patterns and replace them with new, healthier ways of meeting needs. And I will offer you tools, support, and therapeutic techniques with your personal needs and preferences in mind.

In our shared work, we will most likely explore mindfulness as a core skill for noticing and accepting emotions and experiences as they are, so you can live wisely, effectively, and with ease. I hope to help you find your common humanity so that challenges and suffering become points of potential connection rather than keeping you feeling stuck or isolated.

The development and cultivation of compassion for self and others are core to my practice as a therapist. To be compassionate is to be sensitive to suffering in oneself and others, and to be motivated to prevent and alleviate that suffering. A compassionate motivation underpins healing, growth, and strengthening of relationships with oneself and others. You can expect me to model compassion and help you learn how to create a more caring and reassuring relationship with yourself. You can expect my compassionate response and support when things get difficult, and my excitement with you as you celebrate the joys of life.
